Corporate Volunteer Day is run by Boston Cares, who organizes and leads team-oriented volunteer opportunities in Greater Boston. Corporate Volunteer Day is an event held each spring where dozens of area companies gather at locations across Greater Boston to paint shelters, fix-up community centers, landscape parks, or prepare meals at homeless shelters.
Merchant Warehouse took part in this day of giving back to the community by working to upgrade and renovate the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Salem. Overcrowded rooms full of boxes and broken furniture were transformed into a beautiful art area. Other portions of the building received a top to bottom cleaning and fresh coat of paint to help ensure the center was a professional and safe environment for children and staff.
“We were very excited to have taken part in Corporate Volunteer Day”, said Henry Helgeson, Co-CEO of Merchant Warehouse. “The staff at Merchant Warehouse is really energized by being involved in hands-on activities with local organizations. We are proud to have helped transform the youth center and hope the community can enjoy the space for a long time to come.”
“Our friends at Merchant Warehouse left our building tired, sore and a covered in paint” said AnnMarie Tanzella, Executive Director, Boys and Girls Club Greater Salem. “We cannot thank them enough for their time and talent in making our little world a better place for our members".
