The Second Annual Merchant Warehouse Agent Conference begins today, boasting a schedule over the next two days that is packed with seminars and discussions on industry events and regulations, given by industry experts, veterans and thought leaders.
We've assembled experts from the card and payment processing arena to lead seminars on how the last year, in particular, has affected the industry, so our agents will have the knowledge and understanding to become better independent sales agents and successfully grow their portfolios.
A late addition to our list of speakers and sessions is Carla Balakgie, CAE, and chief executive officer of Electroinc Transactions Association (ETA), a position she's held since 2003. Carla will address the conference on Tuesday, just after lunch, to give an overview on the ETA. Her session will begin at 1:45pm.
Carla, a career non-profit executive, holds the certified association executive (CAE) credential, and is designated as a Fellow of the Amercian Society of Association Executives. Prior to assuming leadership of ETA, she served as senior vice president and COO of the National Association of College and University Business Officers, where she also held numerous management and executive roles over the course of 15 years. Carla began her career in association management in the publishing division of the American Society of Association Executives after several years in the commercial publishing field.
While the conference will be focused on enhancing opportunities for our agents, it won't all be focused on business. Agents will enjoy a sunset cruise on Boston Harbor tonight and a Red Sox game tomorrow evening.
