Mobile payment is one of today’s hottest news topics. From Mashable and GigaOm to The New York Times and Newsweek, the topic of mobile payments is mainstream. Much of the conversation fodder is around the new names converging on the payments ecosystem, but there is no debate that the payments industry is changing and everyone from banks to point-of-sale developers to merchants to consumers has their eye on what’s happening and what the benefits will be.
In addition to traditional media, mobile payment is a key topic for major conferences and shows. Even world-renowned events like SXSW®, through the Interactive Festival, are engaging in the conversation about mobile payments, mobile commerce and the future of this evolving space.
Merchant Warehouse is partnering with LevelUp to speak at the 2013 SXSW Interactive Festival to discuss the steps needed to push mobile payments into the mainstream. Our dual presentation will share retail and payment industry strategies to disrupt the shopping experience through emerging consumer technologies. This includes investigating how consumers currently use their mobile devices to shop, as well as future capabilities, like contextual deals, that will revolutionize buying behavior. But we need your help.
From August 13-31, SXSW allows the community to browse all of the speaking ideas, leave comments and vote for those that they feel are the best fit. Please vote for Merchant Warehouse and LevelUp and their proposed presentation ‘Pushing Mobile Payments Mainstream’ and help us continue to educate professionals from all over the world on the importance and value of mobile payments.
